lyrics or other text: | "The Sweety Katy Song"
by G. S. Khalsa
Late 1980's
This is one a few "family originals"...
The lyric is simply "Sweety Katy" (a term of endearment
I use for my younger daughter, Katy) repeated endlessly,
over a light-hearted tune.
This little piece is usually sung "a capella" in
one of two ways, always as a gesture of love:
1) in the day time, cheerfully with slight exaggerations
of pitch or emphasis to make her laugh.
or
2) at bedtime as a lullaby, more slowly and softly,
the first few times using her name, then slowly
fading toward silence, humming only the melody.
