I have been playing the piano since I was 9. I can read music but I prefer to play by ear. I also love to sing and can ad lib harmonies. Pianos are not very portable so I have also learned to play simple flutes, pennywhistles and recorders. Plus I have a mountain dulcimer and a very old guitar.
Several years ago I lived in Bellingham Washington and enjoyed going to the Homemade Music Society music circles. Since moving to eastern Washington I have been isolated from the folk music scene, so I have been playing the piano for the senior center lunch program. They really appreciate me and it's great to have such a kind audience.
