Born in St. Louis, James R began his musical venture at the age of 14 performing in local clubs.
From that point, James knew that pursuing a career in music was his top priority. He went on to
graduate from Southern Illinois University with a B.A. in Fine Arts.

While making his presence known as an Entertainer, it wasn't long before James began putting his
Songwriting skills to work. He soon made his mark by winning the local St. Louis Songwriting
Contest, which was sponsored by The Riverfront Times. Soon after, he signed several of his songs with a major Nashville Publisher, Al Jolson Black & White Music (BMI).

In 1995, James began working on his First Album, entitled THIS BLUE IN MY EYES. The
album was released by Serpent Records through Bill Wence Promotions in Nashville to 100 plus
Radio Stations across the Nation and Overseas. Five Singles found there way into the “Top 20” on the Independent Charts, including a Number One Hit! This resulted in an extensive Two-Month Tour in Greenland and Southeast Asia followed by a short Tour back home in the States.

In 1997 James R went back to Nashville to begin work on his Second Album, DEVILS I CAN'T
TALK TO, which was released in 1999. He and his Band began performing in Casinos and Clubs throughout the U.S. on a Second Promotional Tour. Two Singles were released off the Album, both climbing the Independent Charts to Number One!

After a recent Tour of Casinos, Cruise Ships and Clubs as a Solo Act, James R is currently Writing Songs for his Third Album and Performsing Solo in the St. Louis Area. He also Performs locally with the band ‘Hush’.

While on stage, James utilizes his talents as an Entertainer to the fullest. Not only does he capture his audience with his truly unique Vocal Style, Charisma and High Energy; his fans are equally intrigued by his fine Guitar, Piano and Harmonica skills. His wide spectrum of material runs the gamut from Blues, R&B and Funk to Pop, Rock and Country.
